Autumn in Kansas vs. Autumn in Boston

It is still way too hot for my liking here in Kansas, and more than any other time of year, I am yearning for the brisk but beautiful fall weather in Boston. Autumn always reminds me of New England, not just for the many reruns of Gilmore Girls I have been indulging in lately, but because that was when I would return to college each year, not that long ago (wait…it’s been almost a decade?!). I went for my Bachelors in the Boston area in the late 2000s and while I am incredibly happy where I am in my life, I still get a pang of nostalgia when I hear a particular song or feel that autumn chill (if it would finally get here!).

Not one to scoff or scorn nostalgia (I practically live for the stuff), I have been listening to my fall playlist a lot lately. For your listening pleasure, grab a comfy over-sized sweater and a chai tea (no pumpkin!) and snuggle in for a little while:

  3. The Underwood Typewriter – Fionn Regan
  4. In Our Talons – Bowerbirds
  5. Mood Indigo – Duke Ellington
  6. Dark Paradise – Lana Del Rey
  7. Cliquot – Beirut
  8. You Belong to Me – Jason Wade
  9. Orange Sky – Alexi Murdoch
  10. Knocked Up (Rodeo Mash Up) – Kings of Leon & Lykke Li
  11. What’s a Girl to Do? – Bat For Lashes
  12. Dreams – The Cranberries
  13. Royals – Lorde
  14. Tiger Mountain Peasant Song – Fleet Foxes
  15. Ten Thousand Words – The Avett Brothers
  16. You’re a Wolf – Sea Wolf
  17. Girl From the North Country – Bob Dylan
  18. Bruises – Chairlift
  19. My Moon My Man – Feist
  20. Moving Pictures Silent Films – Great Lake Swimmers
  21. Fog – Mason Proper
  22. Shelter – The XX
